The quarterly members-only newsletter, the APSHO Advance, is an important medium to inform, engage, and empower advanced practitioners through articles on society business and emerging topics in cancer care.
Oncology nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists (collectively referred to as “advanced practitioners”) are integral members of the multidisciplinary team that cares for people with cancer. To mobilize this group of health-care providers, the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) was created. The society is now more than 2,400 members strong and focused on supporting critical issues in educational, clinical, and professional development for advanced practitioners.
The quarterly members-only newsletter, the APSHO Advance, is an important medium to inform, engage, and empower advanced practitioners through articles on society business and emerging topics in cancer care. The newsletter is led by section editors (advanced practitioners themselves) who direct the content for each department every quarter, and includes news coverage, interviews with a members, a list of newly approved oncology drugs, and feature articles on relevant issues in oncology advanced practice. Resources for earning continuing education credits through live and online activities are also highlighted. The APSHO Advance is developed every quarter with the needs of our members in mind, and with the goal of fostering a society that is open, inclusive, and constantly improving.
